Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1924, it is one of only two operating 2-10-0s (Decapods) now in the US. It originally pulled sugar beet trains for the Great Western Railway of Colorado. Today it runs short daily passenger excursions on the Strasburg Railroad.
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by the backdrop of cement, noise, lights and the hustle and bustle of the inner city. I eventually joined the United States Air Force. I retired after serving 26 years and settled in Hampton, Virginia. My love of photography spans decades and my subjects vary, but I always tend to gravitate more toward nature and wildlife. I’m definitely a detail-oriented person (to the chagrin of some) and I’m always looking to isolate my subject matter in an effort to display its “simple beauty”.
